How to Dispute a Transaction

If a Cardholder feels that an invalid transaction posts to their account, they must first make a good faith effort to resolve it directly with the merchant. If that effort does not end with satisfactory results, they can file a dispute with PNC using the PNC Billing Inquiry Form found on the link below.  The Billing Inquiry Form can also be found the back of their paper statement but for tracking purpose, the Online form should be used. PNC must receive the dispute no later than 60 days following the statement date on which the transaction appears.  Once PNC receives a dispute form, the cardholder will receive an acknowledgement letter within 7-10 days.  If the cardholder does not receive the acknowledgement letter, they should follow-up with PNC to be sure the dispute was received.

Once PNC receives a dispute, the process can take anywhere from 30- 90 days.  If the result of the dispute finds in your company's/cardholder's favor, the card will be credited back in the amount of the disputed transaction.
