The 2019 Komen 3-Day season officially kicked off with the Marketing PR team joining local Mohawk sales team members John Temelko and Dan Fracassi in Michigan to help hand out SmartCushion and cheer on participants. As the season is just beginning, learn more about our partnership with the Susan G. Komen Foundation and how we participate at 3-Day events below.
How do we partner with the Susan G. Komen Foundation?
Through the Residential Decorate for the Cure and Commercial Specify for a Cure programs, the Company donates a portion of the proceeds from Mohawk products to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to further breast cancer research. On the Residential side, they donate proceeds from pink SmartCushion.
How does Mohawk participate at Komen 3-Day events?
Residential – The Company “Cushions the Fight” by providing Mohawk SmartCushion for walkers to rest on during lunch stops and camp. Members of our marketing team join local Mohawk sales team members and retail partners at each event to hand out rolls of SmartCushion and interact with walkers. We also provide pink Mohawk carpet, known as the “Mohawk Mile,” for participants to walk along as they enter and depart camp each day. New this year, we have Mohawk-branded sun shelters for walkers to rest under during lunch.
Commercial – They provide carpet tile in Specify styles Pop Icon and Taped Off to be installed in lounges at camp during each event. The team is also putting a commercial focus on the Seattle event where they will be following team member Di Anna Borders’ journey and showcasing our company’s involvement and commitment to end breast cancer.
Komen 3-Day Season – The Komen 3-Day events will continue through mid-November with Mohawk PR and sales team members plus local retail partners attending each event.
Annual Komen Video – The 2019 Cushion the Fight video will be filmed during the Boston 3-Day and will follow our pink SmartCushion from the manufacturing plant through the event weekend while touching on walkers’ stories and Mohawk’s partnership.
Pink Out – We will be hosting the annual Pink Out event at the Mohawk Flooring Center (Oct. 10) to highlight our partnership, share campaign updates and showcase our Cushion the Fight video.
