Dallas-Ft. Worth-area sports fans are rejoicing and the Dal-Tile team is celebrating a significant sales win with the grand opening of Texas Live! in Arlington.
Texas Live! is a brand new 200,000-square-foot sports entertainment and hospitality district nestled between the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium and the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Park, which will be replaced by a new ballpark for the 2020 season.
From the flooring and brick at the Rangers Republic clubhouse venue to the walls inside NFL Hall of Famer and Cowboys legend Troy Aikman’s new restaurant to custom baseball tiles in the restrooms, more than 80 percent of the tile and stone at Texas Live! was sold by Dal-Tile.
Additionally, a second phase of the project — which will feature a 300-room luxury hotel — is also currently underway. Approximately 95 percent of the stone and tile for this portion of the development will come from Dal-Tile, including Panoramic Porcelain SurfacesTM porcelain slabs and One Quartz Surfaces® quartz countertops.
“On the first phase of the project, we got involved a little late,” Senior Architectural Representative Kelly Ryan said. “Selections had already been made by the architect in New York, but by partnering with the local team, we were able to switch a majority of the selections to Dal-Tile products.”
Commercial Sales Manager Whitney Welch added that this partnership is an example of why it’s important for the business to be involved in conversations with developers early and to have the capacity to quickly deliver on site.
“Even though the architecture and design firm selects everything, the real decision makers are the people on the ground,” Welch said. “They have a lot of say when it comes to what is actually installed. This project and others we’re working on are really a case study on how we’re competing against other companies and how our customer is evolving.”
Texas Live! is one of the latest projects of The Cordish Company, a leader in real estate development and private equity holding businesses. Cordish develops and manages entertainment and mixed-use developments, sports-anchored developments, hotels and casinos, shopping centers, as well as other major residential and commercial projects in the U.S. and internationally.
Thanks to the success with Texas Live!, Dal-Tile has recently become Cordish’s preferred tile and stone vendor. Other similar development projects with Cordish are currently in the works in Detroit, Kansas City, Philadelphia and St. Louis, as well as other cities in Texas and Florida.
